ANNOUNCEMENTS

*All Beacon participants must have a medical on file, as well as a Beacon application. Our applications can be found on our website, under the "Enroll" tab. Please be sure to fill out the application in its entirety, as all the requested information is mandated and required.

*If your child has participated in any of our programs after July 1, 2018 and already handed in an application and a medical form, there is no further paperwork to be filled out for them. Please note: a medical form is good for ONE YEAR.

*As of September 2019: Due to city expectations regarding program age requirements, we will only be able to service students enrolled in middle school as of this September (grades 6-8). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we will keep you posted regarding any additional programming options as the year progresses.

We hope to engage your children and families in our Beacon community.

If you have any further questions, please e-mail us at jccbeaconprogramths@gmail.com

ATTN: PARENTS/GUARDIANS: We ask that you COME IN the building to check your children IN and OUT of each program they attend at THS. Ms. Ashley and Ms. Brianna will be at the back desk (enter through the TEACHERS PARKING LOT) at the beginning and end of each program checking participants in and out. If we are NOT there, we are checking on our programs; please speak to whoever is at the back desk and they will call us.

If you do not wish to keep coming in and out each time you drop off and pick up your child, please select the appropriate box on the application where it claims “walker”. This box DOES NOT give your child permission to WALK HOME, it will give your child permission to WALK OUTSIDE TO THE PARKING LOT, with a staff member, and walk to your CAR.

*Please keep in mind, with this option, once the child is outside, they are no longer our responsibility.

We are trying to keep our participants as safe as possible. THS is a big school with many sports and activities going on at the same time as Beacon. We have them separated, however, dismissal for the sports teams are in the lot, which is why we ask that parents do come inside so we are able to match the names with faces. If we DO NOT RECOGNIZE someone who is coming to pick up a participant, we will ask to see PHOTO ID.

Thank you for understanding!

Dear Parents/Guardians of our current Beacon Participants,

As of March 15, 2019, there will be no phones allowed in any of our Beacon programs offered. We have recently noticed cell phones and hand held devices have been a distraction during our programs. We need our participants’ undivided attention during all of our activities, as we want them to be safe during their time participating. With that being said, if a child needs to contact a parent/guardian, phones will be provided for them to reach you.

Thank you for your understanding,

JCC Beacon Staff
